Tuesday was weird. Blogger was down and my post for that day did not go through. I do remember the grams - 39 for that day.

Wednesday gram total was 42.

Thursday gram total was 39.

It seems Blogger is acting up again, so I'm outta here for now.

Yesterday I did some amazing cooking, even by my standards (which are based on my mother's skills, which are among the best in the world).
Actually, lately, I have been cooking like a grande chef!

So, I made a chicken roast with veggies, spiced with Indian spices and honey. Yum. At the same time I put up a chicken soup (we have been having unusually wet weather in our Sonoran desert and Mike and I felt a need for soup).
I can make a mean soup, but this was superb! We each had two bowls for lunch today.

I made an Apple Crisp for dessert.

And the other day I cooked up some kale with curry. Yum. Mike loves anything Asian. Boy am I lucky!

This weather is the inspiration for all my cooking, and I am having fun but.... I hope our usual climate returns soon 'cause I'm getting a case of the SAD blues!

Yesterday totalled 43.58. But there's a catch. My bodyworker had suggested I try a particular sprouted wheat bread instead of taking psyllium or other fiber supplements. So I did. For one day. Not a good move. In fact, I had major upset tummy for about 30 hours afterwards. YUK.
And all I did was have a coupla slices for breakfast!

The problem is that grains are a no-no. Even sprouted grains. Also, the bread had added yeast, another no-no. I had to try it though, and it was tasty too.

Since I don't eat most grains, except organic brown and wild rice, I had forgotten the effect they have - bloating, gas, major discomfort, and not good for bowel movement either...
I guess I had to try b/c she was SO sure that this would be a better method for fiber intake.

Thing is, I knew, deep down, that this was probably not going to work. I knew b/c my bodyworker has normal digestion and I am an IBSer. Worlds apart. I knew, also, b/c since I have been on the SCD, I have had minimal problems overall, and the SCD calls for elimination of gluten carrying carbs, such as grains and potatoes.

On another note, my fiber intake today will total around 32 grams, the least amount so far. I didn't eat much today, and tried to drink lots of water. Sort of a respite from yesterday's discomfort (which lasted until well into this morning). Tonight will bring an enema, for sleeping relief!

Lesson learned: Stay with your instincts. Stay true to yourself. If something works, don't let others talk you out of using it!
