Ever been to a naturopath doctor? I went a month ago, then had some blood tests done to check various hormone levels, then went back to the doc and now I am on a six month regimen of herbs and vitamins and minerals.

Funny but within a couple of days I began to feel less tired, more aware, CLEAR.

Another thing. My bowel movements are beginning to act like a non-IBSer's. I have had spontaneous middle-of-the-day movements. WHOA. These are 'small', but not pellets. They are real.

I went to the naturopath b/c I was tired of being ignored by my regular doc. I have been going through the change before the change (AKA perimenopause - that 12-20 year period before menopause that affects many women in today's stressed-out society) and having all these unbearable symptoms like leg cramps, and BO.

Anyway, she was more interested in the IBS than the other stuff - but since the other stuff was newer and under less management we started there.
It all comes down to a lifetime of stress and adrenal exhaustion. So these supplements are healing my adrenals in order to make my life and health easier for this transition.
Cool.

The thing is, combined with the SCD and my fairly healthy regimen, the supplements are now helping me to realise that I was still not even close to 'perfect health' (yes that is the name of a deepack chopra book).
So, now my IBS is coming under ever greater management.
AND... while in previous blogs I stated my goal to be as regular as possible, I am beginning to see that I may achieve that, and more. I am now aiming for regularity without fancy regimens. This is the long term view. I wanna be a great old broad!

I came across this group called the Great Old Broads for Wilderness. They go off to various threatened wilderness sites and march and rally and camp, etc. I want to be able to do that to. I figure I've got a couple of decades before I get there and that is plenty of time to reach perfect health....
