Today was pretty much as I expected - cooking, catching up on odds and ends, and a couple of errands.
Just thought I'd blog before going off to do an hour or more of yoga. That is my luxury for the day. I'll end it with some upside down, even though they tell women not to during their periods. I think that is a bunch of baloney.

This last week has been very busy, and we are both tired. The weekend will not give any sign of relief b/c Mike has a conference on Saturday and we are commited to a raw foods gathering on Sunday.

Lots of stress.
I am moving though. I guess the routine of lemon tea, aloe juice and a little fiber every day is essential. The beets help too, but I refuse to eat beets every day - altho I could do different juices. That's next on the list.

I think a juice fast would be AWESOME. I might plan to do that in March, during my break. Three or four days worth should be a good rejuvenator.

In the meantime, I'll continue my working routine. Am still taking 400 mg of magnesium/day. I intend to decrease that to 300 after next week. I am almost stabilized. Am also having success with herbal concoctions for calcium supplementation - much better than taking the pills b/c no side effects (like a blocked bowel!).

22.1.02

Yesterday was going to be a relaxing, catch up on work day.
Didn't happen.
Instead, I cleaned and organized most of my files, cooked (experimented), and tried to function without plumbing.

Hopefully, today will not be a repeat. Mike has just gone to the plumbing supply to see if he can get the part we need. I hope.

I suppose I can always go in and shower at the gym. Other people do it. And, it would be nice to have a readily flushing toilet...

My routine of late reinstates the lemon tea and aloe in the a.m.
As well, I have discovered juice - not just juice, vegetable juice made fresh at the local juice bar (at Wild Oats). I particularly like the Chi-Tonic, heavy on the beets, for helping me move my bowel. I try to get a juice twice a week. In the interim, I try to eat as simply as possible.

I find that too much food during the course of a day blocks me. Some foods are more blocking than others, and I am still learning about that. Some foods, such as beets, are natural diuretics, so are on my good to eat list. Many people take prunes to help move their bowels, but all that does is give me gas, which in turn blocks me!

Ain't IBS grand?

I met a woman who eats only raw foods and she told me about soaking nuts to make them more digestable. I took a bag of almonds and soaked 'em. Now I know how they get that sweet almond extract - the soaked almonds have such a wonderful smell and flavor!

That's all for now.
