13.6.02

In a nutshell: April and May were not good months for me overall. I took on too much stress, which disabled me big time. On a scale of one to ten - it was an eleven or twelve. I stopped eating for ten days b/c whenever I ate I had major pain. I was weak, mystified, unhappy.

Details later.

End of May some sunshine came into my life. Deep down I knew it would, but when you are feeling poorly, the deep down doesn't get heard.

Our intestinal support group had a guest who taught us about our energy, and how to manage our healing a little more holistically. The name of this process (yes it has a name) is called Chi Nei Tsang - pronounced as it looks. It is a process of breathing and self massage - in our case specifically of the abdomen - to move one's Chi, or life force/energy.

In Eastern Medicine everything is about balance and life energy. This is right up my alley! Anyway, we learned about how our Chi can stagnate, particularly in any of the life-giving organs, which are all located in the abdomen (why am I not surprised?).

The woman who taught this is also well versed in chinese herbs. Her name is Jill Ruttenberg, and she is based here in Tucson, but writes and speaks and travels...

I made an appointment to see her to assess the potential for herbal remedies for my ailments. Long story short, the herbs have been VERY helpful.

How helpful?
My perimenopause symptoms have been reduced considerably. I have complete and satisfying BMs every single day. Usually two of these during the morning hours. If I say so myself, they are quite beautiful BMs! I feel much better; more energy, better outlook, etc.

I hope this will work over the long term. I have a deep down feeling (a gut reaction? tee hee) that this will work well for me.

As well, my experiment with probiotics led me to the creme de la creme, Natren. OK, so they are expensive, but weigh that against continuing doctor bills and sick days, etc. No comparison, Natren probiotics win. I take the powder.

Fabulous.

I'll talk about the CAT scan details later, too. Oh, and the hormone blood test results, and the mammogram results, which I am not pleased with. Life assessment time? Don't yet know on that one. Maybe more tests and/or a second opinion there.

Gotta go.
