ibslog
This log is about my adventures and experiments managing ibs (irritable bowel syndrome).

23.8.02

This morning I got up and proceeded to organize and get ready to go to school, and I forgot to do my early morning belly massage. Something distracted me (I forget what). Result was a slightly slower response time, and unsatisfactory BM. HOWEVER, I knew I would be OK once I got to the office and could organize my schedule for the day.
I was right. Two or three BMs later - one after some peppermint tea, one after eating, and one after a snack - I was feeling much better. The snack did me in gas/bloat wise, though. It was raisins and pecans, a tasty combo, but the raisins give major gas. Fortunately I went for a run and did a little yoga and moved it on out.

What is remarkable about this day is the almost total NONCHALANCE I experienced when faced with an unsatisfactory BM first thing in the morning.
This is a first.
In the past I would have had to go and use the enema bag to relieve the pressure.
Not today!!!!
Today I shrugged and said to myself it will be OK, I will eliminate more later. And I did.

Next!

21.8.02

It's been real.
Too busy to breathe.
Getting ready for the semester to start, doin' research, trying to get into a new routine and trying to juggle family and community responsibilities. AAARRRGGG.

It's really not that bad, but fun to dramatize, don't you think?

Through it all, the tummy just keeps on chuggin' along. No problems, even though last weekend I ate things I 'shouldn't', and haven't in a long time. Like fried chicken that was yummy! And sushi (b/c of the sugared rice).

But I exercize almost daily, and am sticking with my probiotics and belly massage! I am one healthy happy camper.

I know this is soooo boring to all you readers, but hey, it's where I'm at right now.

Ciao, bella.
