Munching on some pecans and raisins.. Monday, May 29, 2000 Amontillado is the big topic of the day on the SCD Listserve. Here's my perspective, as a big-time Spanglophile: Sunday, May 28, 2000 Dinner: grilled turkey sausages from TJ's, and a tossed salad.

Breakfast: the usual :-) Tuesday, May 23, 2000 Lunch: Delicious, all-u-can-eat Mongolian grill, @ Rose Garden. Rose Garden is a fabulous place, that somehow got written up in USA Today as one of the best Chinese places in the country. I must say, I agree!
Breakfast: apples, dccc, mezquite honey, and some figs. Monday, May 22, 2000 Dinner: Laura prepared a feast while I was at the gym! Grilled fillet of copper river salmon, grilled portabella mushroom, stir-fry of organic French string beans and garlic, and a tossed salad. I'm stuffed! :-)
Lunch: leftover chicken, tossed salad with turkey "pastrami" slices, and a banana.
Breakfast: apples, dccc, and some turkey "pastrami". Sunday, May 21, 2000 Dinner: roasted/grilled chicken with some Old Bay seasonings' sample (came with the paper this morning?!), a tossed salad, and Spanish-style asparagus. And a glass of amontillado just before lying on our patio chairs while watching the stars come out.
Lunch: chicken in a Thai green curry sauce (from TJ's), and a strawberry/pineapple/peach smoothie (courtesy of Laura).
Snack: the last remaining turkey burger. Time to make more!
Breakfast: an apple, while watching two 12-inch collared lizards on my back wall. They were gorgeous! They were obviously sunning themselves, doing the obligatory territorial "push-ups"; one even ate a flower off a nearby plant--was it the flower it was after, or the insect(s) that might have been on the flower? Saturday, May 20, 2000 Lunch: leftover ribeye and some string beans and spinach.
Snack: some leftover tossed salad. Just as delicious one day later..!
Breakfast: apples, bananas, and scrambled eggs. We're off to play some tennis this morning, so I'll need the energy-food!

Kewl! The Connection's show today on NPR, with yours truly is archived in Real Audio. Check it out here! When the hosts and Ev discuss "what you have for lunch every day" they are talking about this Flog! :-) You can hear me babble about dietary regimens, remission, and the ease-of-use of Blogger's technology at 13 minutes into the show.
Lunch: carne asada burrito (green), enchilada style @ Rosa's.
Someone asked me the other day, "who is this Elaine Gottschall?". My reply: Elaine is to Inflammatory Bowel Disease what Rachel Carson is to the environmental awareness movement".
Hey! If your local NPR station gets The Connection, tune in right now to learn about other unique blogs, like Flog! I emailed the three folks that are going to be hosted: Ev, Rebecca, and Brad to ask if they will mention this Food Log. The show is called The Connection and the station/time list is here (you can also listen on their site). The discussion forum about the show is here. Listen in!
Breakfast: apples, dccc with mezquite honey, and some cheese. (I hope this keeps me going--I am leading a workshop on high performance team leadership today!) Wednesday, May 17, 2000 And a glass of amontillado (not the full cask, of course).
Dinner: leftover turkey burgers, salad, and whatever else we decide to create.
Lunch: turkey burgers (fresh off the grill), leftover grilled veggies, and some punjab eggplant from TJ's. Tuesday, May 16, 2000 Dinner: grilled zucchini and eggplant in a Thai peanut sauce, tossed salad, and leftover halibut in a curry simmer sauce. As it ends up, I should have grilled the veggies without the peanut sauce; the sauce was overpowering. A little olive oil, dash of soy, and some ground pepper would have been ideal.
Snacking on TJ's Tropical Monkey Mix.
Lunch: leftover grilled turkey sausages, chicken tandoori, and a tossed salad. Gazpacho and some Gouda cheese, too.
Breakfast: apples, figs, and dccc. Monday, May 15, 2000 Awesome dinner! Tossed romaine salad, chicken tandoori on the grill, and sauteed mushrooms and onions. Perhaps the glass of amontillado was the finishing touch? Hmmm.. either way, another fine meal at Mike & Laura's!
Lunch: gazpacho, tossed salad, and leftover halibut in a curry simmer sauce (from TJ's).
Breakfast: apples, dccc with mezquite blossom honey (far better than clover honey!). Sunday, May 14, 2000 Dinner: on the back patio, watching the moonrise and the sunset. The meal included halibut in a curry simmer sauce, Laura's sliced carrots in a butter glaze, and a tossed salad.
Lunchtime! A tossed salad of Asian greens, romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion, cucumber, and sliced cold grilled turkey sausages. Mmmmm!
Breakfast: fried eggs, an apple, some pineapple juice, and some manchego cheese. Off to play some tennis this morning!
Yesterday, dinner: Delicious Thai melange with friends @ Char Thai. I devoured the play chu chee (fish in a curry sauce); and we shared curried vegetables, pad Thai, mee krob, yum yai salad, and a curried beef dish. Saturday, May 13, 2000 Breakfast: an apple, some dried figs, and then two fried eggs. Off to play some tennis on this glorious morning--probably the last of the "cold" sub-90 degree weather until November!! Friday, May 12, 2000 Dinner: leftover roasted chicken, gazpacho, and a tossed salad of romaine and mixed Asian greens.
Golly gee, Mother's Day is coming! What to get Mom? How about the latest, new-fangled photo album! It's way better than a box of chocolates! Check out the Ceiva Internet-enabled Photo Frame!

Breakfast: cheddar cheese, turkey "pastrami", and an apple. Thursday, May 11, 2000 Dinner: grilled zucchini and eggplant, cauliflower "mashed potatoes", and some leftover roasted chicken. And a glass of merlot.
It pisses me off when I hear that Crohn's and Colitis patients are told that "diet doesn't matter"! I got another email from a guy in California today. He's 29, just diagnosed with Crohn's.. and told that the SCD (and anything else for that matter that doesn't come as a prescriptive drug) will do nothing. The guy gave me his phone number, I called him, told him how it works, and he is going to try the diet for 30 days. Chris, good luck! :-)
Lunch: gazpacho, turkey sausages, and salad. Wednesday, May 10, 2000 Dinner: artichokes, caesar salad, and roasted chicken.
Mood meter: I'm having a really nice day. I just took a break from html to make gazpacho. It is chilling in the fridge, and will be just perfect, just in time for lunch! I'm listening to Ketama, a jazzy flamenco beat which just adds to the ambiance.
Breakfast: some fresh fruit. I'll be working from home today, taking a "comp day", and expect to get some major work done on scdiet.org's site. Hope so, anyway. Monday, May 08, 2000 Dinner: fried walleye, tossed salad, and onion rings @ some bar/pub in Lansing, MI. Whatever. Pretty tasty stuff! Sunday, May 07, 2000 Snack: cold leftover turkey burger, gazpacho, and manchego cheese.
Breakfast: fruit cocktail and dccc. Saturday, May 06, 2000 Dinner: Appetizer - stuffed portabello mushroom. Entree - string beans and garlic, grilled turkey burgers, and gazpacho.
Lunch: TJ's chicken masala, with spinach.
Dinner (yesterday): the last of the leftover chicken cacciatore (awesome), and Penelope Casas' recipe for asparagus, Spanish-style. Basically, some olive oil in a pan, two cloves of garlic (whole, not chopped), and the asparagus. Cook over low flame for 20 minutes, or until asparagus are soft. Remove to serving platter, add coarse salt to taste. Friday, May 05, 2000 It is only May 5th, and it is already 100 degrees in Tucson. It is going to be a nice, long, hot summer.
Lunch: cheeseburger, sans bun, with extra lettuce. Thursday, May 04, 2000 Breakfast: scrambled egg and bacon burrito. I sliced the plump burrito lenthwise and enjoyed its contents. Sliced melon, and orange juice on the side.
YESTERDAY, May 3: Tuesday, May 02, 2000 Dinner: leftover chicken cattiatore! There was an segment on NPR during the drive home from work, about a guy (David Lehman) that wrote a poem a day for a year. He published his material as a book called The Daily Mirror: A Journal in Poetry. Perhaps this Flog will someday be published? Any suggestions for a title..email them to me (I'll send you a signed copy of the book when it is published).
Lunch: leftover sausages and yellow squash, tossed salad. Monday, May 01, 2000 Dinner: leftover artichokes, with grilled hot turkey sausages from Wild Oats, and a grilled leek. I cut the leek lengthwise, washed it, and put some oil on it. I grilled it for 20 minutes (on aluminum foil), and served it with a "sauce" of softened butter, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and fresh ground pepper.
Lunch: leftover chicken cacciatore, tossed salad. Laura's cacciatore is absolutely awesome! If the web had scratch-n-sniff, you'd be drooling on your keyboard right about now :-)
Breakfast: apple and dccc, with some of TJ's 100% pure, raw, wild and unblended desert mezquite honey--way better than the clover stuff!
