Nirvana of Peristalsis

(also known as Mike's Flog)

A Regimen for Remission
This log tracks my regimen of attitude, exercise, stress management, and SCD foods. Since I started this regimen in 1997, I've been able to keep my Crohn's in a drug-free remission.

Monkey-see,
monkey-don't

Even though I may have experimented beyond the SCD from time to time, one must remember that everyone is different. Follow the intro diet for 3-5 days, and stick with the SCD until you are completely symptom free for at least one year before experimenting.

Lunch: salad, leftover chicken, and some pepper jack cheese.

Is anyone interested in a whole bunch of photo equipment? I am about to sell (or auction on e-bay) my Minolta XG-M, which has lovingly served me for 14 years. It has taken award-winning photos, been to over 20 countries, and never let me down. That said, I am more and more interested in having a digital camera so I can post sunset and sunrise photos to the web a bit more quickly.
Equipment list: Minolta XG-M, 50mm f/1.7, Sigma 28-85 zoom, Vivitar 85-205 zoom (not plastic!), autowinder, flash units, filters galore, reverse-mount filters (for simple macros), and the Minolta Bellows III unit (for high-end macros). Interested? e-mail me here: mike at glassbird dot com

Breakfast: the usual.

No matter how well one eats, stress can affect Crohn's (even while on the SCD). Remember to keep things simple, get exercise, don't internalize events at work, and relax. :-)

Dinner yesterday: roasted chicken, sauteed zucchini, mushrooms, and red peppers, and a tossed salad.

Lunch yesterday with my wife @ Rosa's, one of my favorite places in Tucson. Awesome.

Lunch: Delicious, all-u-can-eat Mongolian grill, @ Rose Garden. Rose Garden is a fabulous place, that somehow got written up in USA Today as one of the best Chinese places in the country. I must say, I agree!

Breakfast: apples, dccc, mezquite honey, and some figs.

Dinner: Laura prepared a feast while I was at the gym! Grilled fillet of copper river salmon, grilled portabella mushroom, stir-fry of organic French string beans and garlic, and a tossed salad. I'm stuffed! :-)

Lunch: leftover chicken, tossed salad with turkey "pastrami" slices, and a banana.

Dinner: roasted/grilled chicken with some Old Bay seasonings' sample (came with the paper this morning?!), a tossed salad, and Spanish-style asparagus. And a glass of amontillado just before lying on our patio chairs while watching the stars come out.
mhs@20:36

Lunch: chicken in a Thai green curry sauce (from TJ's), and a strawberry/pineapple/peach smoothie (courtesy of Laura).
mhs@15:16

Snack: the last remaining turkey burger. Time to make more!
mhs@11:03

Breakfast: an apple, while watching two 12-inch collared lizards on my back wall. They were gorgeous! They were obviously sunning themselves, doing the obligatory territorial "push-ups"; one even ate a flower off a nearby plant--was it the flower it was after, or the insect(s) that might have been on the flower?

Dinner yesterday: veal fiorentino and a salad @ Gavi, a nice Italian place that opened nearby recently. Delicious! Afterwards: Laura and I finally saw Erin Brokovich--great film!
