A Regimen
for Remission
This
log tracks my regimen of attitude, exercise, stress management, and SCD
foods. Since I started this regimen in 1997, I've been able to keep my
Crohn's in a drug-free remission.
Monkey-see,
monkey-don't
Even though I may have experimented beyond the SCD from time to time, one must remember that everyone is different. Follow the intro diet for 3-5 days, and stick with the SCD until you are completely symptom free for at least one year before experimenting.

It has been raining a lot lately. No, it is not monsoon here but it sure has the makings of an el niņo winter! And all of this rain brought out those cute little Sonoran desert toads. Those little sapo sonorensis were hopping around the flagstone patio and chirping all night. I would not have thought those little guys could handle the cold weather we've had, but I guess they came out for one last fling before digging underground for the next 9 months. And to top off the hopping-reptile evening, we watched Magnolia last night. Tom Cruise was awesome as a scary, sleazy "motivator"; William H. Macy was his usual shlumpy self; but the finale -- that was just wild!

The sun has finally returned to the desert! Everything is a lush, heavy green after a much-needed 4 days of rain.

Breakfast: an apple, a banana, some dried figs, and some Jarlsberg cheese. Dinner, yesterday: chicken shawerma, at Sinbad's.Afterwards, we got to see B.B. King live! He was great! The guy is almost 80 years old but one would never know it. No, Eric Clapton was not there, but they did play some tunes from Riding With The King. The opening band, Shemekia Copeland, was quite good, too. She's nineteen, they're all from NYC, and they are worth checking out!
