Nirvana of Peristalsis

(also known as Mike's Flog)

A Regimen for Remission
This log tracks my regimen of attitude, exercise, stress management, and SCD foods. Since I started this regimen in 1997, I've been able to keep my Crohn's in a drug-free remission.

Monkey-see,
monkey-don't

Even though I may have experimented beyond the SCD from time to time, one must remember that everyone is different. Follow the intro diet for 3-5 days, and stick with the SCD until you are completely symptom free for at least one year before experimenting.

I am back from a week in San Jose. Sorry, no time to update Flog but here is a quick summation of my SCD munchings away from home while staying in a dumpy motel on The Alameda:
Breakfast: fruit (apples and bananas), pecans (from Trader Joe's), organic Thompson raisins (from Trader Joe's). Lunch: there is a wonderful Cuban place on Race Street where I had a lovely garlic chicken one day; spinach and mushroom quiche with tossed salad from Cafe Rosalena another day; grilled Pacific red snapper from the Race Street Kitchen (awesome selection of fresh fish!). Dinner: I bought a bag of washed baby spinach, a bottle of oil & vinegar dressing, and a roasted chicken and dined on that for two nights; Ram took me out to a neat Cal-Mex place called Aqui one night; and I had a chicken burrito another night.

It looks as though the near future holds many more days in San Jose and I hope I can update Flog in a more timely manner if that happens!

Cold Marble Photo is one very weird but intriguing website. Great photos for the most part...I wonder if they've found infrared black and white film to be as interesting as I have for their subject matter?

Dinner: roasted veggies, sauteed spinach with garlic, and chicken tandoori on the grill! The last of the really great homemade meals for awhile..I'm off to San Jose for the week at Gandiva HQ.
