Nirvana of Peristalsis

(also known as Mike's Flog)

A Regimen for Remission
This log tracks my regimen of attitude, exercise, stress management, and SCD foods. Since I started this regimen in 1997, I've been able to keep my Crohn's in a drug-free remission.

Monkey-see,
monkey-don't

Even though I may have experimented beyond the SCD from time to time, one must remember that everyone is different. Follow the intro diet for 3-5 days, and stick with the SCD until you are completely symptom free for at least one year before experimenting.

Dinner: grilled shrimp, grilled eggplant, and a cool cucumber and yogurt cheese salad. The cucumber/yogurt cheese salad was based upon a Greek recipe for "poungiou" I found in Bert Greene's book on greens. I made a few changes, including a substitution of chopped mint leaves and parsley for dill; I also skipped the sugar (no sweetener of any kind needed in my opinion!). Delicious!

Today was a very relaxing day, including a two hour midday nap. After the nap I had a tossed salad, read the newspaper, and ate some dried dates. I was gassy all afternoon and into the evening. It may have been the lettuce (green leaf, as I am out of red leaf) but I think there was something about the dates that got me.
