Nirvana of Peristalsis

(also known as Mike's Flog)

A Regimen for Remission
This log tracks my regimen of attitude, exercise, stress management, and SCD foods. Since I started this regimen in 1997, I've been able to keep my Crohn's in a drug-free remission.

Monkey-see,
monkey-don't

Even though I may have experimented beyond the SCD from time to time, one must remember that everyone is different. Follow the intro diet for 3-5 days, and stick with the SCD until you are completely symptom free for at least one year before experimenting.

I'm almost over the cold. It has been dragging around for over a week. It started as a major allergic reaction and escalated into a mucus-y nasal mess. Anyway, it's almost over. I've noticed a bit of tenderness in my ileum, probably because my defenses are down. So, I've increased my intake of cooked veggies and chicken soups (we keep a stock of homemade frozen soup for lazy evenings and times like these). The soups and soft foods have helped in more ways than one, and all is going well now, thank you very much.

Monthend at a software company, no stress, no-sirree. Anyway, I had another good sales month, and am looking forward to further success in May.

Yes, we're working on our cookbook. We hope to publish it this year. Stay tuned!

It's not the OK Corral, but there was definitely a standoff on our wall this morning. A fairly large (8 inch) collared lizard was basking in the sun on the back wall. He was doing his push-ups, showing off for the ladies and wanna-be tough guy lizards who might wander too close to his territory. A fat mourning dove (pigeon of the desert) decided to land less than a foot away! The lizard went wild! He didn't really attack the bird, but rather spun around in utter protest, puffed up with air, and resumed rapid pushups until the bird flew away.
