Nirvana of Peristalsis

(also known as Mike's Flog)

A Regimen for Remission
This log tracks my regimen of attitude, exercise, stress management, and SCD foods. Since I started this regimen in 1997, I've been able to keep my Crohn's in a drug-free remission.

Monkey-see,
monkey-don't

Even though I may have experimented beyond the SCD from time to time, one must remember that everyone is different. Follow the intro diet for 3-5 days, and stick with the SCD until you are completely symptom free for at least one year before experimenting.

Dinner, yesterday @ the Tanzer's: salmon en cruste (without the cruste), tossed salad, oven roasted asparagus, and an assortment of cheeses. It was quite fun listening to Christmas music for five+ hours while the Chanukah candles burned, sharing stories of past holiday seasons!

It's a sunny, warm day here in Tucson. The temperature seems to have topped 80 degrees. The windows are open. The lizards and the bees seem to have come out of hibernation today.

We're indoors right now, making some honey jumbles for the holidays. The bees want to come in and have our holiday honey jumbles!

The future of food, combined with radio frequency ID tags: "...Imagine eating a Bassetts' Jelly Baby [an albeit completely non-SCD candy]. Now imagine eating a future jelly baby, if Bassetts have decided to enhance them with silicone edible-electronic tags. Because of its sophisticated cyberspace part, the jelly baby can now scream (through your PC speakers or Bluetooth headphones), and can fight back. It could link to its friends on a peer to peer network, and organise a denial of service attack ..." This vision comes to us from Ian Pearson at BT Exact.

Taken a few steps further, radio frequency ID tags could be placed in food so one could monitor exact daily nutritional intake.

Dinner, still in PA: broiled tenderloin with butter, pepper, and herbs de Provence, wilted green beans with garlic, Catalonian spinach with raisins.

I have a 7AM flight back home to Tucson tomorrow! :-) Ah, it was nice to see the snow but it will be nicer to see the cactus and the warmer temperatures!
mhs@18:02

Breakfast: applesauce, Lois Lang's nut bread. I'm still in PA and my return flight for today is cancelled due to a big storm. The snow is deep and it keeps coming down. I have 3 muffins remaining for my trip. I must... find... more... food supplies...

Breakfast: applesauce, Lois Lang's nut bread, and some cheese.

It is snowing outside my window here in PA. The falling white flakes are accumulating on the trees, lawn, and road. It is very quiet, as most sounds are muffled. Very pretty, very nice, and it will be even nicer to recall this tomorrow evening when I return to my home in Tucson! :-)
