A Regimen for Remission
This log tracks my regimen of attitude, exercise, stress management, and SCD foods. Since I started this regimen in 1997, I've been able to keep my Crohn's in a drug-free remission.

Even though I may have experimented beyond the SCD from time to time, one must remember that everyone is different. Follow the intro diet for 3-5 days, and stick with the SCD until you are completely symptom free for at least one year before experimenting.

Dinner: grilled eggplant, grilled copper river salmon with butter and pepper. We've been very busy lately--cleaning the yard, trimming trees and shrubs. It's pretty crazy at work, too. I've signed up for 2 weeks with a personal trainer... busy, busy!

Tomorrow is the annual Converging Technologies/Linktivity chili cookoff contest. I made a non-traditional chili without beans. It is delicious!

Dinner: chicken and vegetable chili. Dessert: caramelized bananas.

Lunch: leftover grilled tuna, sauteed veggies.

Breakfast: homemade yogurt, sliced apple, flax seed oil.

Breakfast: homemade yogurt, sliced Fuji apple, flax seed oil, Lois Lang's nut bread with butter and honey. I prefered the Gala apples with my dry curd cottage cheese, but the Fuji's are a bit more tart, less sweet, and have a nicer texture that goes well with the homemade yogurt. Fresh out of the refrigerator, they are crisp and delicious! I've also started to take a tablespoon of flax seed oil as a supplement because it is good for maintaining intestinal health. I make a little depression in the middle of my yogurt serving and fill it with the flax seed oil. It's a bit nutty and goes well with the yogurt!

Google changed Blogger. The new "Dashboard" and rounded edges on their interface are cool, but the rest of it is a waste of space. I don't really like it. Let me see my recent posts, in their entirety, like the old format. Bring back the old-school Blogger (at least as an option)!

According to an article on Fair Trade in today's New York Times, "...Bananas are by far the most popular fruit in the United States (apples are a distant second); more than 8 billion pounds were sold last year, or about 84 bananas for each American. When an ordinary banana makes its way from a hillside in Ecuador to the supermarket produce aisle, only a tiny percentage of its cost goes to the farmer. Even before a banana arrives at the store, importers, distributors and even the "ripener" have taken a cut of the profits. (Virtually all bananas are harvested and shipped while still green; when a banana nears its ultimate destination, it is sprayed with ethylene gas to turn it yellow.)"

Dinner, yesterday: grilled mountain trout with ginger, honey, and sesame oil; sauteed Swiss chard and with Indian spices; oven roasted baby carrots, oven roasted garlic and cauliflower.
