Nirvana of Peristalsis

(also known as Mike's Flog)

A Regimen for Remission
This log tracks my regimen of attitude, exercise, stress management, and SCD foods. Since I started this regimen in 1997, I've been able to keep my Crohn's in a drug-free remission.

Monkey-see,
monkey-don't

Even though I may have experimented beyond the SCD from time to time, one must remember that everyone is different. Follow the intro diet for 3-5 days, and stick with the SCD until you are completely symptom free for at least one year before experimenting.

Breakfast: homemade applesauce, sliced Fuji apple, Lois Lang's nut bread with butter and honey.

We've been very busy lately here in the land of monsoon and moving boxes.  For the last 45 days we've been dealing with bankers, inspections, negotiations, delays, mistakes, evening monsoon rain storms, and much more.  Lots of sleepless nights.  Anxiety, nervousness, and even doubt.  Through all of this I have maintained my good intestinal health but I've been clenching my jaw at night.  Ojalá that all of this back-and-forth will be completed by the end of this month and that things will 'normalize' thereafter.  I'm ready for a vacation, which I've scheduled for early August (a few days).

Summer is here! It's time for SCD ice cream!! Iced yogurt, to be more precise. We like the Cuisinart automatic frozen yogurt and sorbet maker.

Nick lives in the Netherlands and has a blog about Autism and the SCD.

Yes, it has been awhile since my last post. I really didn't have anything new, unusual, or special to post--we've been enjoying lots of fresh fruits, grilled meats, etc.

My newest favorite "snack" is a mix of roasted salted sunflower seeds, cashews, and raisins. These things come in waves; I'll move on to a new favorite in a few weeks!
