A Regimen
for Remission
This
log tracks my regimen of attitude, exercise, stress management, and SCD
foods. Since I started this regimen in 1997, I've been able to keep my
Crohn's in a drug-free remission.
Monkey-see,
monkey-don't
Even though I may have experimented beyond the SCD from time to time, one must remember that everyone is different. Follow the intro diet for 3-5 days, and stick with the SCD until you are completely symptom free for at least one year before experimenting.

Breakfast: DCCC, homemade yogurt, sliced Fuji apple, and Lois Lang's nut bread toast with butter and honey.
For fun, lately I have been mixing it up. In addition to creating a little depression in my yogurt and filling it with some flax seed oil, I've added two spoons of dry curd cottage cheese to the puddle area. This works nicely, as the dry curd absorbs much of the oil, thereby reducing the amount that leaks out and runs around my plate.

At long last, the first entry for 2005. What took me so long? Well, mostly there has been entirely too much partying in the last 3 fun-filled months! Thanksgiving, holiday parties, New Year's parties, birthday parties... Lots of wonderful meals but nothing that shouted "Flog me!" (translation: add me to the Food Log!).
Dinner: grilled Tasmanian sea trout with butter, lime zest, and pepper; baked acorn squash, tossed salad, and Laura's "Serious Fruit Cake" for dessert. What I find interesting about this entry is: it is very similar to the most-recent entry. We've been having a lot of fun with the slow cooker (aka crock pot); mostly with roasted chickens and chuck beef. I'm thinking about getting a pressure cooker. As one co-worker says, "If you like the slow cooker, you'll love the pressure cooker. It's the same, only 7 hours faster!" That remains to be seen if and when I get a pressure cooker.
