Nirvana of Peristalsis

(also known as Mike's Flog)

A Regimen for Remission
This log tracks my regimen of attitude, exercise, stress management, and SCD foods. Since I started this regimen in 1997, I've been able to keep my Crohn's in a drug-free remission.

Monkey-see,
monkey-don't

Even though I may have experimented beyond the SCD from time to time, one must remember that everyone is different. Follow the intro diet for 3-5 days, and stick with the SCD until you are completely symptom free for at least one year before experimenting.

An article in today's Seattle Times reports on Mike McCready's success with the SCD, the loving support from his fiancée, and collaboration with the CCFA to raise awareness of Crohn's and colitis. Mike is also known as the guitarist for Pearl Jam...way to go, McCready! :-)

Addendum: Billboard Magazine article dated April 7th.

I'm back from my colonoscopy and am pleased to report the doctor's findings on the paperwork I brought home with me: "examined colon and distal ileum. looked normal".

I came home, ate some homemade yogurt and applesauce, and promptly took a nap. I haven't spoken with him yet, but I do look forward to it! Laura and I moved to Arizona in 1996 and I started the SCD on 1/1/1997. This was my second test (the last one was August 1999) since I made diet and lifestyle changes and both times I've had great test results.

Dinner: nothing but 3 to 4 litres of NuLytely. Ayup, I'm finally succumbing to my doctor's requests to "take a look inside". The last colonoscopy was August of 1999 and all was well. Let's toast this next glass to a wonderful checkup tomorrow morning!
