Nirvana of Peristalsis

(also known as Mike's Flog)

A Regimen for Remission
This log tracks my regimen of attitude, exercise, stress management, and SCD foods. Since I started this regimen in 1997, I've been able to keep my Crohn's in a drug-free remission.

Monkey-see,
monkey-don't

Even though I may have experimented beyond the SCD from time to time, one must remember that everyone is different. Follow the intro diet for 3-5 days, and stick with the SCD until you are completely symptom free for at least one year before experimenting.

Happy 2008 everyone! It’s a new year, and time to seize the opportunity to make necessary positive changes in one’s life. It has been over 11 years since I started the SCD on 1/1/1997. I’ve done so well that in 2007 I started to add previously disallowed foods—carefully. I have had no issues and am glad to report I gained some weight (in conjunction with going to the gym).

My two changes for 2008 are as follows. First, my tonsils started really bothering me over the past summer. Two rounds of antibiotics did not resolve the issue, so I had them removed on 12/31/07. No singing on New Year’s this year. The recovery was just as painful as promised (not fun for anyone over the age of 14) but I’m mostly better now and will be fine in another week.

The second change for 2008 is an exciting career change: I have joined the team at Scottsdale's Advanced Strategy Center as Project Director for Tucson and Southern Arizona. We use advanced tools and techniques to enable organizational change, primarily through facilitated electronic brainstorming, strategic planning, and other types of group intelligence and innovation sessions.
